Francesco Pirotti

Francesco Pirotti is associate professor at the TESAF Departmentof University of Padova. His research interests are:
- Earth Observation (EO) applications and the use of AI in data analytics in particular from Earth Observation.
- Collaborative web solutions for applying new algorithms to large remote sensing datasets.
- Lidar data, both full-waveform and discrete, for forestry applications.

He is committed to several national and international scientific committees and research groups related to geomatics, i.e. ISPRS Co-Chair in WG, EARSeL Chair of Agriculture SIG.

From 2021 to 2023 Francesco is Director of the Master in Geostatistics for human, veterinary and environmental health

He teaches remote sensing and geographic information systems in higher-education and holds several connected external courses.

He is author of 100+ articles in national and international journals; 91 of which peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Currently part of Editorial/Scientific Board for the following Journals:
- Science of Remote Sensing (Elsevier - open-access twin journal of Remote Sensing of the Environment)
- Remote Sensing Applications: Society and Environment (Elsevier)
